             During Fall Semester of 2006, the Lambda Theta Chapter of Sigma Nu took part in St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s, Up ‘Til Dawn.  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, focuses on finding cures for childhood cancers and serious diseases.  Each member of Sigma Nu wrote to fifty friends to try and raise money for St. Jude’s.  Other organizations participated along with Sigma Nu during Up ‘Til Dawn.  The outcome of this is that Sigma Nu raised the more money percentage-wise than any other organization on Birmingham-Southern’s campus.
             During Spring Semester of 2007, St. Jude’s held another event, Up Til Dawn Finale.  Sigma Nu volunteered to help set up and run the event logistically.  During the event, Sigma Nu was presented with a trophy, signifying Sigma Nu’s dedication and service to Up ‘Til Dawn and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  Sigma Nu also spent 1,334 hours working with Up 'Til Dawn and raised $4,830 for the Hospital.

             During Fall Semester of 2007 Sigma Nu co-hosted a Community Service project with Kappa Delta Sorority with Habitat for Humanity. We spent one Saturday building a Habitat house for a family in Birmingham, Alabama. We hope to continue working with Habitat for Humanity at an even greater capacity next year, and become even more involved with Community Service.
